São Tomé hosted the solemn ceremony of the Gala of Santomean Diplomats on the night of April 23, an event of high institutional symbolism that brought together members of the Government, representatives of the Diplomatic Corps, national entities, and guests, as part of the celebrations of the Santomean Diplomat's Day, marked on April 22.
The event was presided over by His Excellency the Prime Minister and Head of Government, Américo Ramos, and attended by Her Excellency the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Communities, Ilza Amado Vaz, as well as members of the Government, the diplomatic corps accredited in the country, and other high-ranking individuals.
In her intervention, the Minister of State emphasized the importance of diplomacy as a fundamental instrument of foreign policy, highlighting its contribution to the strengthening of international cooperation, the promotion of peace, and the sustainable development of the country. In turn, the Prime Minister praised the role of Santomean diplomats in affirming São Tomé and Príncipe on the international scene, recognizing their commitment, professionalism, and dedication to the service of the State.

One of the most striking moments of the ceremony was the delivery of recognition trophies to diplomats and personalities who distinguished themselves by their career and relevant contribution to the prestige of national diplomacy beyond borders.
The gala was also marked by the inauguration of the diplomatic library and the screening of the institutional documentary 'Serving the State: Santomean Diplomacy in Action', which depicts the journey, challenges, and achievements of diplomacy in the service of the Nation.
The event culminated with a moment of conviviality, accompanied by a musical performance by the Santomean artist Guilherme Carvalho, providing an environment of conviviality and reinforcement of ties between the various institutional and diplomatic actors.
